Introduction:
The purpose of this tool is to allow you to select groups, periods and other selections of elements from the periodic table and view various aspects of their physical and chemical properties, linking this behaviour to their atomic structure.

Instructions:

1. Select elements:
   • Select elements by either:
     • Clicking on the periodic table button and choosing your elements, then clicking Close. You can:
     • Click on the number at the top of a group to select the whole group.
     • Click on the number at the left of a period to select the whole period.
     • Click and drag to select a range.
     • Click on multiple individual elements.
     • Click on the buttons under the Quick select sub-heading to quickly select a range.
2. Choose the data to view from the Select data drop-down menu.
   • Toggle Label elements on/off to show/hide element labels for each atom.
3. View electron configurations for each element on the graph by hovering over their data points to see their data for the current data type, their full electron configuration and full or partial electrons-in-boxes energy level diagram.
   • Clicking on one of the data points on the graph can toggle its electron configuration card on or off; you can display up to three at a time for comparison, and can drag them to move them around.
4. Toggle Display data as to choose between a graph view or a table view of the data. Clicking the button below this will copy the graph to the clipboard (graph mode) or download a CSV containing the data (table mode).
5. Explore the periodic table:
   • Click the periodic table button at the top of the settings panel.
   • Toggle the PT view toggle to Extended to show the full periodic table with the lanthanides and actinides properly integrated, which can help to make the periodic structure of the elements clearer.
   • Toggle Data to show to Other and then select a different data set to view; this will replace the atomic number in each element's cell with the element's value for the selected data.
   • Toggle Heat map to On to colour each element's cell according to its value for the current data; this can help to visualise the patterns in the data.
